The Next Generation of Biomaterials: A lecture and seminar in synthetic biology for teachers in grades 6-12

This lecture and seminar will give teachers an in-depth look into the exciting area of convergence (transdisciplinary) research in synthetic biology and provide them with the knowledge and tools to be able to design their own contextualized science lessons and curricula that reflect the needs of the future engineering workforce. 

  • Learn about the advances in Convergence Research, like Synthetic Biology, and the needs of the future engineering workforce  
  • Explore resources related to these topics that are applicable in the K-12 classroom
  • Collaborate with area science teachers to incorporate classroom integrations that inspire students about future STEM careers
